When Alaska SB, LLC decided to open the second location for Smashburger in Wasilla, AK, we knew that we needed to have a general contractor who not only would meet the criteria of being on budget, on time and excellent work, but to entrust someone to be on location managing each day, when we are located at least an hour away. Communication is a big part of the foundation that a business owner must have with its contractor. This foundation was solid from the trigger being pulled with Velocity Design Build. An immediate communication site was created for all principals to access whether local in Alaska or traveling out of state. Plans, specification sheets, time lines and bids were all accessible and up to date by the minute. Errors in the field cost time and money to recuperate. By excellent communication were we able to avoid any errors and communicate needs and changes directly from our corporate office to the field. Professionalism and cleanliness are sometimes overlooked at job sites. The team at Velocity Design Build maintained a professional environment from day 1. No matter who was touring the job site, the discussion between team members was professional and appropriate. The cleanliness of the job site is a reflection of work in some cases. A clean and organized job site was present at all times, alleviating downtime searching for products or purchasing extra product. All building inspection passed with no issues and the build came together flawlessly. We are thrilled with the excellent quality that we received. Velocity Design Build not only met the time line for Wasilla Smashburger to pass all inspections and accommodate on site training for new employees prior to Grand opening on January 10, 2018, but they also came in on budget for the entire project. We look forward to utilizing Velocity Design Build for our future locations!
